Our Story

Shastra Life began in 2023 with a simple realization:
India, the spiritual heart of the world, has a temple commerce economy worth billions—yet it is fragmented, unregulated, and filled with mass-produced goods that carry little connection to tradition or authenticity. Devotees often end up with items that are neither scripture-accurate nor truly consecrated. Temples, despite their massive cultural influence, lack control over what is sold in their name, while artisans and communities are left struggling to find dignified markets for their skills.

To change this, we incorporated Shastra Life as an impact-first private limited company—a social and scalable startup that puts mission above profit. From day one, we committed to building thoughtful policies that ensure our work always remains impact-led: prioritizing grants and non-profit-driven investments for funding, binding even our founders and equity holders to rules that prevent personal gain from diverting the mission, and treating profit only as a tool to sustain and scale our work.

Our efforts slowly gained recognition within the spiritual community, and we secured our first partnership with Shri Shiv Chidambar Swami Mandir of Babulgaon-Ganga, a temple that attracts devotees from across Maharashtra and Karnataka. This step proved that authentic, consecrated, scripture-accurate products can generate value for devotees, empower artisans, and provide temples with sustainable revenue streams.
